You against you.

What’s working

You're dinking more than ever: 41% of your swings were soft.

From last outing’s focus

Last outing’s focus was Wall Reset Touch (quiet paddle at the kitchen, with a count at the same setup). No practice count came back on that setup. This time late pace cooled to 97% from 144% and soft backhand slipped to 34% from 44%. Same wall drill. Bring back your count at the same setup.

The next practice focus is kitchen touch. Soft backhand touch slipped 44% → 34%. Soft touch eased from round 1 (45.6%) to round 2 (39.5%). One focus: soft backhand touch with Wall Reset Touch.

Wall Reset Touch

Prescription: 3 sets, stopping each set at 12 controlled contacts or the first loss of control.

The setup

Stand 5 to 6 feet from a wall and mark a low target area.

  1. Feed gently into the lower target.
  2. Absorb the return with a short motion.
  3. Keep the ball close enough to continue without chasing.

Count it · Player / coach check

Count completed 12-contact sets.

Step farther from the wall or add left-right targets, one change at a time.

What will your next practice show?

Keep the setup the same and bring back your count. Soft backhand share next outing — beat 44% at the same setup.

Keep your count with the setup above. Open this outing in the latest PickleBear app to save it.

You took 724 swings across 2 rounds. 41.0% soft touch shots in your dink range, 25.6% medium drives, 25.6% hard drives and 7.9% put-away swings. 74.4% forehands and 14.1% backhands, and no overhead swing all day.

Did you move a lot, maybe too much?

2,897 steps inside the 86 minutes of play, 33.8 a minute and 4.0 steps for every swing. Your May and June outings ran 29.8–32.2 a minute and 4.6–6.4 per swing. That is just over your usual range. The round where you moved most for each ball was round 2, 4.1 steps a swing.
