What We Collect

PickleBear collects the minimum data needed to power your paddle-sports coaching companion:

• Email address — used for account sign-in (magic link)
• Profile basics — display name, skill level, and optional physical stats (e.g. weight) used only to calibrate shot detection to your swing
• Session recordings — wrist motion-sensor data (accelerometer/gyroscope) and heart rate captured by your Apple Watch during sessions you start, plus shot counts, duration, and session markers you set
• Gear you add — paddle and equipment details you enter in the Gear Locker
• Coaching context notes — notes you submit when requesting a coaching debrief

Health & Motion Data

Heart rate is read through Apple HealthKit only during workouts you start, with your explicit permission. Motion data comes from the Apple Watch sensors during recording only — PickleBear does not track you between sessions. HealthKit data is never used for advertising and never shared with third parties, per Apple's HealthKit guidelines.

How We Store It

All data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security policies ensure each account can only access its own data.

AI Coaching

Coaching debriefs are generated by large language models (Anthropic, OpenRouter) from your session's motion-derived features and any context notes you provide. Content is sent for inference only — these providers do not train models on your data per their enterprise terms. Debriefs are visible only to you and anyone you share your personal link with.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not display advertisements
• We do not train AI models on your data
• We do not share your sessions or health data with other users
• We do not collect location, browsing history, or device identifiers beyond what's needed to run the app

Children's Privacy

PickleBear is designed for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal information, contact support@pepstarllc.com and we will delete it.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and ALL associated data (sessions, sensor recordings, gear, profile) directly in the app: Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also email support@pepstarllc.com from your registered address and we will delete your data within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
